This guy wants me to make him some money Saturday... |
In Thursday's "College Football Weekend Primer" I gave you a STONE COLD LOCK of KANSAS STATE (-13.5) over Louisiana-Lafayette. Well, much like Tim Tebow being asked to change positions, I'm sticking to my guns. But, that doesn't mean that I can't acknowledge that I made a mistake and that there may be better options.
While reexamining the Vegas lines, I found one ripe for the picking that I can't believe I missed the first time around. So, if you will indulge me, I would like to offer my STONIER, COLDER, LOCKED DOWN PICK OF THE WEEK!
OHIO STATE (-24) over San Diego State
This line has actually moved from 21 points to 24 because everyone out there must have been paying closer attention than me earlier this week. Yes, there are questions about the Buckeyes after a sloppy opener against Buffalo, and may think they are overrated at No. 2/3 in the polls. But, if THE Ohio State University can't cover the spread here, we should just drop them out of the Top-25.
This is more about San Diego State, and the 21 point beat down that Eastern Illinois out of the FCS put on them last week. If a mediocre team from a level down can lay the smack down on the Aztecs in their own building, I have very little confidence that they will put up much of a fight in the Horseshoe this week against the Bucks.
So there you have it, your bonus lock of the week. It would've been more attractive Wednesday when the line was 21, but I still think this is the most attractive college football bet you can make this week.
