Lobel's Question of the Week: To Kick or Not to Kick?

Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend. This week's question deals with the Patriots and the fine line between "playing on" and "running up the score" in a blowout.

With just over two-minutes left in the game, New England had already benched most of its starters, including star quarterback Tom Brady, and led 48-23.

Facing a 4th and 16, the Patriots chose to kick a 39-yard field goal, pushing their lead to a full four scores. While the kick seemed to be in the normal flow of the game, many Patriot-bashers have called the move "bush league" and "unnecessary."

Bob wants to know, what say you? Participate in our poll below, and Tweet him your thoughts at @boblobel, or let us know what you think on Twitter at @SuiteSports.

Ed. Note: It has come to my attention that the "vote" button on our poll doesn't show up in some web browsers. If you would like to participate in our poll, click here and you should be able to vote.

Was it "running up the score" or "bush league" for the Patriots to kick a field goal with two minutes left against the Bears, already leading 48-23?

i thought they should have taken Brady out earlier. All it takes is one fluke injury play and he's out for the season. Why not rest your franchise player if you've got a commanding lead?

Coach B ran it up in order to instill confidence in offense prior to Goliath coming to town next Sunday. Will it work? No.

It's the NFL. These are professional football players. They're grown men. The concept of "running up the score" doesn't exist at this level. Everyone doesn't get a trophy. There is a winner and a loser. I guarantee you that if you can actually find someone who complained about running up the score (which I doubt, because I don't think there were any complainers at all, but rather just a media-invented non-issue), they are (1) a woman, (2) someone born after 1980, or (3) a weak person who thinks we should all live in peaceful communes, or (4) all of the above.

Lol at John Galt. Glad to see you automatically assume women and young people are "weak." Please, go back to being an old man who insults everyone that isn't just like him.
As for the question: No, it wasn't running up the score. It was 4th and 16 and they were in FG range. Had to kick it.
